Peterson Family Tree Project

Archiving the Frederick W. Peterson family history through research, vital records, and photos.

What is the Peterson Family Tree Project?

The Peterson Family Tree Project or PFTP contains GEDCOM data on the Frederick W. Peterson family that has been converted for online viewing. There are four goals or standards of the project. They include: documenting our family history through genealogical research by using online databases, accessing collections of other family members, and sharing our findings with other genealogists in hopes of finding more information on our ancestry. Additionally, PFTP provides contact information for family members wishing to get in touch with other relatives.

1. Online genealogical research:
Eventually, PFTP will obtain subscription access to Ancestry.com and its related services for 24/7 research.

2. Accessing collections of other family members:
If a distant relative has made progress on a branch of the Peterson tree, his or her GEDCOM file can be merged into this database, thus allowing someone else to research other branches.

3. Sharing findings with other genealogists:
Putting our data online allows others to access the information and learn something that would otherwise be unknown to them. Sharing information on the web enables quick and easy access for everyone.

4. Contact information of relatives:
By having your email address on file, distant relatives can get in touch with you which allows both parties to share files and information quickly. To add your name, address, and email to the list, please contact me below.

Where can I find the most recent Family Index?

The most recent Family Index can be found at this URL. For easy access, please bookmark that address.

How can I submit data to the project?

If you have data that is not included in the most recent Family Index, please consider it for submission. PFTP welcomes any photos, videos, or information on the Peterson family. Also, if there is any incorrect or outdated data, please bring it to my attention as soon as possible. To continue with quality standards, I prefer high-resolution images in JPEG format (most common) above 72 DPI.
